Two new endowed lecture series for sculpture and for photography in honor of the Bullitt family will be inaugurated next month by the University of Louisville’s Hite Art Institute.
MATTOON — With a photo titled “First Snow,” Thomas Dagley, Paris, won Best of Show in the 29th annual Lake Land College Foundation Photography Show co-sponsored by the General Electric Mattoon Lamp Plant and Prairie Field Folk Art & Craft Show.
They stood in silent packs under dim red lights, watching images emerge on paper floating in trays of reeking chemicals. In the darkness, a girl blurted, “I totally messed it up. This is hard.” Others added grunts of similar frustration.
